Our Second Day
For our second day in Cadiz, we started the morning off at
around 11 and took a nice walking tour of the sights in Cadiz. We walked
through many plazas, each with distinct scenery. We then headed off to the
beach nearby, which was beyond gorgeous. The water was a light crystal blue,
and a few of us even headed out to swim to the buoy.
After we were allowed to leave the beach, a few of my
friends and I walked through the city and stopped to grab coffee and ice cream.
It was an experience in itself trying to order one scoop of cookie ice cream,
or an ice coffee with fat free milk. But it was fun.
We then headed back to the apartment and our host parents
were still at the beach. It was interesting to be handed a spare set of keys so
we could use them to get in if our parents were not home. We came home to get
ready for a group dinner. After that, we were allowed to hang out with our
friends until 12:00, which was curfew or toque
de quedas. Overall, it was a relaxing second day.
We spent our time after dinner in La Plaza de Catedral,
where a concert was being held for the bicentennial anniversary of the signing
of the declaration of Cadiz. People were dancing all types of dance in the
middle of the plaza. A few of us even joined in too!
Tomorrow is our first excursion to a nearby beach town , se
llama (called) Conil.
